ARKANSAS PORT, INTERMODAL, AND WATERWAY DEVELOPMENT GRANT PROGRAM INFORMATION

Arkansas public port or intermodal authorities or facilities located along the Mississippi, Ouachita, Red, and White Rivers are currently eligible to apply. A port facility can include an intermodal facility and maritime-related industrial park infrastructure development.

This grant program provides financial assistance to public ports and intermodal authorities to make capital improvements and port development projects, including landside infrastructure, real estate purchase for port expansion, and much-needed dredging projects for ports and waterways. The match requirement of the program is 10% for development projects and 50% for dredging projects.

All proposed development projects must have commercial feasibility and must have a component that will benefit the movement of waterborne commerce within the State of Arkansas. Projects should positively impact a commercially navigable waterway and provide the port/intermodal authority with the ability to compete more effectively in the marketplace.
